Harrisonburg-Rockingham Regional Sewer Authority (HRRSA) MCC Replacement

HRRSA is the local sewer authority for Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, VA. Their organization is critical in constructing, operating and maintaining facilities that collect and treat wastewater.

This project replaced an existing 1200A Motor Control Center (MCC) responsible for powering a significant portion of the plant. Because of the essential nature of the loads, Allen Yoho Electrical worked to keep the existing MCC powered up and providing energy while installing the new electrical gear. With the new equipment installed, Allen Yoho Electrical could transfer existing electrical loads individually to the new gear and minimize downtime to any portion of the plant.

We replaced old and unreliable equipment with new equipment, greatly improving safety, reliability and performance, along with improving aesthetics and maneuverability in a small space.

In addition to ensuring that the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Regional Sewer Authority had power during the replacement, Allen Yoho Electrical also served as the General Contractor for this project, overseeing the installation of new HVAC equipment, epoxy flooring and masonry work. In addition to a new MCC, this project included the installation of new panel boards, a transformer, an automatic transfer switch and other miscellaneous electrical equipment.
